MoonRay is DreamWorks’ open-source, award-winning, state-of-the-art production MCRT renderer.
Each repository is packaged separately. As the documentation says, we can categorize OpenMoonray components in three groups.
Moonray: providing the command line renderer and libraries used to integrate MoonRay and author scene objects. - scene_rdl2 - mcrt_denoise - moonray - moonray_gui (GUI) - moonshine - moonshine_usd
Arras: allows applications to use the MoonRay renderer running in one or more separate processes. Arras itself is not specific to MoonRay, and can be used to run other programs. - arras4_core - mcrt_messages - mcrt_computation - mcrt_dataio - arras4_node - minicoord - arras_render (GUI)
USD Plugin: Hydra render delegate plugin and several adapter plugins for the USD scene delegate. - hdMoonray - moonray_sdr_plugins
There's no need to use environment variables, since I reestructured the project to follow standards. Some paths that you should know:
- /usr/bin: executables.
- /usr/lib64/openmoonray: coredata, rdl2dso, sessions,, shader_json.
- /usr/lib64/usd/plugin: hydra delegate.
NOTE: This package is intended for standalone use, there's no support for SideFX Houdini.
