How much work would be required to enable the versioning for EL 8? I was able to build this one fine on RHEL 8 the only caveat is that EPEL is required for DKMS.

A new rpm definition probably, because RHEL is not 100% compatible with fedora in this case. At least this was the issue when I wanted to build it here.
I don't have resources now to provide support for RHEL, nor time, nor hardware.
