@rhughes this seems to be related to fwupd update. There are certainly missing some provides on Aarch64:

@vondruch this seems somehow aarch64 specific -- the x86_64 build looks fine: https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/rpminfo?rpmID=36859435 -- and the 1.9.10 to 1.9.11 uprev doesn't change anything at all to do with building the shared library. Maybe this is an rpm regression? Are any other recent builds affected in the same way?

Both aarch64 and s390x are missing the provides.

I fired a scratch build today, where 2256645 got somewhat addressed, and the provides are back.
You should be able to just rebuild it in rawhide.

I think quite a few things are going to need rebuilding.

Yea, although i checked some of our (kde-sig) stuff that was triggered yesterday and it seems fine?

@rhughes if possible it's much less disruptive to do this kind of breaking change on a side tag with the rebuilds, then land them all together...

AFAICS only these packages in the current rawhide buildroot depend on one of the missing provides:

@adamwill no, we don't need rebuilds.

"things are going to need rebuilding" because of RHBZ#2256645, not because of the fwupd update; the fwupd build is just a broken build and there may be many more broken builds as an effect of RHBZ#2256645

The check for symbol versioning in the fwupd build unfortunately went wrong:

This was a side effect of the linker warning I added (and which is once gone again). If I read the Meson sources correctly, it uses --fatal-warnings in its linker argument tests.

No, it's just the usual thing with those build system probes, fitting a three-way outcome into a boolean result. Sometimes, a result that should be indeterminate is unexpectedly flagged as true or false.

I've rebuilt fwupd https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=111324132 -- fingers crossed that fixes the compose.
