Starting with 1.9.1-8 update, cinnamon bundles gnome-settings-daemon code. http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/cgit/cinnamon.git/commit/?id=49c70df65576d3f6957e9e057830f2ebe537bbef
Bundling is against packaging guidelines and cinnamon must use the system copy instead.
I filed it against the Cinnamon package first, but Dan Mashal insists in the ticket that it is NOTABUG.

It is my understanding that this is simply older code that gnome-settings-daemon no longer supports. Not unlike mate and cinnamon components themselves. Since no strict duplication (or bundling) of system components is occurring, this request is largely unfounded.

This is only a temporary fix for F19, for F20+ I'm going to package cinnamon-settings-daemon.

The changes to cinnamon needed for this aren't complete yet.

I have changed it to CANFIX as this is the truth of the matter.
Uncool. Please reconsider and fix cinnamon to work with system gnome-settings-daemon, instead of resorting to bundling or forking.
The bundling rules are here to make sure development and fixes are happening in a single package. Fedora maintainers should work with upstream to ensure their code works together with other components.
Please read the rationale against forking and bundling at https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging:No_Bundled_Libraries

I can't fix it as the gnome devs removed it, the only solution is to fork.
Gnome isn't my upstream any more since they started striping features.
Get used to change, we're not slaves to gnome any more!
Leigh is following guidelines. This is atrocious.
Linux Mint upstream*
Have YOU ever tried working with them?? It's like pulling teeth.
Please get over it.
IMHO, this one is moot now, Cinnamon has been updated to use cinnamon-settings-daemon which is a proper fork with its own upstream. The bundling hack is not used in the Fedora packaging anymore.
