#759 Requesting sponsorship for Willtech
Opened by willtech. Modified

Hello, I am seeking sponsorship to bring new pkg to Fedora "groot" "powerkill" "qt-calculator-qui"

Groot - A Friendly Root Command Wrapper for Linux. groot is a lightweight BASH utility that behaves like a more conversational version of sudo.
It provides two modes: running a single command with elevated privileges or dropping into a full root login shell. It is designed for administrators, developers, and power users who want a simple, memorable way to elevate privileges without typing long commands. GitHub:Willtech/groot https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=143598514

PowerKill - Usage: powerkill [OPTIONS] PID - Powerkill iterates kill -n {1...65536} PID and suppresses output. GitHub:Willtech/Powerkill

Qt-calculator-gui - A simple Qt-based calculator GUI that talks to a backend over standard input/output. GitHub:Willtech/qt-stdio-calculator https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=143736769

I have been with Fedora Accounts for about 6 Years and if I understand the process is request sposnorship to packagers and then create a ticket on bugzilla to have maintainer for the package I wish to work on please advise the process.

groot --shell-after whoami

qt-calculator-gui

IM adds up without decimal to prove correct sum. Went for V1.0.0 qt-calculator-gui

Please see:

Your next steps should be to submit a ticket to have a package reviewd
to be included in Fedora.

Will this be alright. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=177841

@willtech are you a AI bot?

Because you obviously did not read the linked documentation. Submitted the review to the wrong bug. Did not use the template for that bug, but used something similar (what would AI hallucinate).

Honestly, going through the links which were provided and this part in particular, I can see how one could land at https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=177841#c45

I think the results could have been different if this document have been linked:

https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/package-maintainers/New_Package_Process_for_New_Contributors/#create_your_review_request

You are right I can see it is called "Bug 177841 (FE-NEEDSPONSOR) - Tracker: Review requests from new Fedora packagers who need a sponsor" and it is linked from https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Packager_sponsor_policy/#requesting_sponsorship I did just copy off one of the first comments I saw there - who figured. :)
