Hello, I would like to add @xiaofwan as a co-maintainer for the bootc package. He works for Red Hat and he needs to be added to the packager group and @dcantrell will sponsor him.
(Tangential but why isn't this process "file a pull request to add a username to an OWNERS/MAINTAINERS.md" ? )
If you already have a sponsor in mind and you (or @dcantrell) are an existing maintainer of bootc, you don't need to go through the sponsors list. Just sponsor them directly (via accounts.fedoraproject.org) and then add them as a contributor to the package via src.fedoraproject.org. (Note that it might take a few minutes for the sponsorship to replicate out to the other services)

I don't see anything in that user interface that appears to relate to sponsorship.
I am checking now. I think my session in Firefox went sideways...
OK, things fixed on my end. @walters you can go here:
https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/bootc/settings#usersgroups-tab
And add @xiaofwan on that page as a co-maintainer.
For clarification, you want to add him with "commit" permissions to be co-maintainer.

Yeah, the UX for that page is extremely unhelpful. If you are a sponsor, there's a text box for "Add User" next to the "Members" header once you scroll past the Sponsors section on https://accounts.fedoraproject.org/group/packager/

You're right, that is a terrible UI.
OK, @xiaofwan you are now in the packager group so @walters should be able to add you with commit access to the bootc package.
I still get the same error...
Because of the way that the auth system works, @xiaofwan may need to log in (or log out, then back in) to src.fedoraproject.org to force the SAML interaction to update the groups that src.fedoraproject.org knows about.
I'm in packager group now. Thanks everyone! We can close this issue.
