This is more of a provisional request for sponsorship to take over the verilator package. I have already submitted a PR to it to bump its version and fix some build issues, however, the maintainer, scottt, appears to be inactive.

As the package has not been orphaned yet, I don't know what the process for gaining sponsorship and ownership of the package would look like, especially since scottt may still be around after all these years.

as part of that we will hopefully see if @scottt is still around or not and can ask for sponsorship based on your PR.
