Hi, I would like to become sponsored into the Packager group to be able to properly maintain our package LCMAPS for which I'm already registered as its maintainer. I'm working at Nikhef in Amsterdam, and together with my colleague Dennis van Dok (@dennisvd) have been developer and packager of LCMAPS for over 15 years. LCMAPS is already in Fedora and EPEL7, but we would like to have it also added to newer EPEL releases. As a sponsor, Steve Traylen is probably the most suitable, as Dennis and I (and other Nikhef colleagues) have worked with him in several projects.
I've been programming for around 40 years in a wide variety of languages (but prefer C), have been running a wide variety of Linux distributions for more than 25 years now, and have been involved in various European and international software projects (mostly relating to security software for the Grid software) for more than 15 years.
Hey @msalle I am not sure how you were able to be assigned that package without having been sponsored already. The system shouldn't have let you.
Ah, there was a unretirement ticket that was processed without you being in packager. ;(
To solve this, perhaps @stevetraylen could chime in here and indicate if they were able / willing to just sponsor you...
Hi @msalle
Yes I can sponser you - had a quick look at the lcmaps package.
Contact me direct if we need to sort out some actions to make that happen.
Steve.
