I'm requesting sponsor status. I'm the maintainer of ursa-major [1] in Fedora, and recently my colleague @julian8628 (Yuming Zhu) is going to take the ownership of ursa-major in Fedora and needs a sponsor, he is also a koji developer for years. I am willing to be his sponsor and co-maintain ursa-major in the future.

Hi @ignatenkobrain, because @julian8628 is currently not in "packager" group, he can't push and merge changes and I can't assign him as the package owner of "ursa-major".

Well, for that you don't need to be a sponsor, he needs to find a sponsor and that person can add him to a packager's group.

I have sponsored @julian8628 to the packager's group now.

I guess nothing else needs to be done here, if not - please reopen.

@qwan You still can apply to become sponsor. But for that you have to have different reasoning and understand other sponsors responsibilites. See https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_sponsor_a_new_contributor#Becoming_a_Fedora_Package_Collection_Sponsor

The issue was a request for sponsor status, which was not accepted (because you have withdrawn it, and at least I am not convinced that you would have satisfied the criteria to begin with).

Yeah, this should be done without any trouble. But please open a separate ticket for this so we have a normal record of the decision.
