#260 Request sufficient acces to use fedorapeople space
Closed: Fixed Opened by dominusceo.

Hi, everybody I'm here because according to fedorapeople.org page ( http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Infrastructure/fedorapeople.org), the one way i can request sufficient access to use the fedorapeople space is by visiting the packager sponsors Trac and filing a ticket.

This is the right way or what I have to do for get some space?

Thanks in advance.
Regards

I've noticed you have applied to a lot of groups in FAS. What are you interested in working on? It's generally prefered to talk to people or send an introduction of yourself to the mailing lists or on IRC instead of just applying directly to FAS.

Generally we only add give people access to fedorapeople if they have a spec/srpm they are wanting to upload for review. Also, you can do that on a different webspace or attach it to bugzilla if needed.

Hi,
I understand all that you are saying, but i just following the instructions given for your own team, I've already made a introduction into marketing list (just this one), is it necessary to made the same thing into all those mailling lists that i've applied ?

I'm interested on computer security stuffs, graphic design, writing documentation, spread Fedora use on my country, etc.. and for this reason i've subscribed to those mailling list that i think that i can help (there are a lot of list that cannot subscribe directly).

It is a little bit confuse the steps described into fedoraproject to be a contributor but i will to do as you requested.

Thanks so much.

P.D I have some spec about security hardening, this is valid to start?

Thanks

I've clarified the fedorapeople page. fedorapeople.org space is provided to contributors (which we define as someone who is in at least one non cla group). This is to allow them to upload src.rpms for package review or the like. It's not just for whatever, it's to advance/help whatever they are trying to do in Fedora. :)

Additionally, now for people submitting package reviews, they can use copr if they don't have anywhere else to put their rpms.

So, the question then is: what do you need the space for? If there's some current need that relates to Fedora we can get you access. If not, we can close this and help you get started in some other area of the project. ;)

I understand and your are rigth, iI'm so sorry if i do not communicate my idea, just I'm trying to contribute.

I have a few rpm's related to security topics ( hardening/security related with fedora that i've been tested). I do not know if these could be candidate to include it into fedora release, so for this reason I posted this for ask for space, because frecuently i format my machines to test newest fedora's distro and sometimes by mistake i've erased some data -included rpms-, so for this reason i asked for space, of this way I could have the chance to save this work and I do not have to work again about it.

But i stick to what you say me.

Well, rpms can be saved in copr, but if you have other open source items you need to save, we can get you access to the space.

I have done so now. Enjoy.
