#114 Application for Fedora Package Collection Sponsor
Closed: Invalid Opened by jhladky.

Hello,

I would like to apply for becoming a Fedora Package Collection Sponsor.

I'm a packager for 3+ years now, I actively maintain 4 packages (hwloc, haveged, dieharder, aespipe) and I have done several package reviews. The most recent one is

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1048815

and I would like to sponsor Jan Tulak.

Thanks a lot for the consideration
Jirka

http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_sponsor_a_new_contributor#Becoming_a_Fedora_Package_Collection_Sponsor

mentions having done a few high quality package reviews, and my doing a quick search failed to find any. If you have, can you please mention them here? If not, comment why you haven't done any (yet) and you still consider yourself a good sponsor candidate?

Requirements from https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_sponsor_a_new_contributor:
* Maintain at least three packages.
* Have done five high quality, nontrivial package reviews.
* Have been members of the packager group for at least one release cycle (generally six months) so that they have seen the process of branching for a new release.

As Rex, I was able to find only 2 package reviews:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/buglist.cgi?component=Package%20Review&email1=hladky.jiri@gmail.com&emailassigned_to1=1&emailtype1=substring&list_id=1570150&query_format=advanced

Unless there are more package reviews assigned to a different account I vote -1.

Hi,

I have done some informal package reviews as well but I cannot find them as I'm not the Assignee of the bug.

Anyhow, the reason why I would like to become a sponsor is that I'm mentoring Jan Tulak, author of the Rdrand package and I want to be his sponsor.

Thanks
Jirka

There is no need to become a sponsor to have Jan Tulak sponsored into the packager group.
If you're going to mentor him, any sponsor could add him. IMHO this fits the following rule:

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_get_sponsored_into_the_packager_group#Become_a_co-maintainer

Please note his fas name, and a sponsor can take action more easily.

-1 from me.

-1 as this is an obvious attempt to bypass fp.o usual process to get a co-worker sponsored into the packager group.

More that 5 Weeks have passed with an outcome of -2 votes... This can be closed as a 'wontfix', I think.
