Please briefly describe the interaction that caused you to file this

Please note other IRC nicks that are involved in this interaction: BobJensen, PetiteMoufette

Please describe what action or positive change could be adopted based on

hey guys what software can I use to write an ISO to disk?
PetiteMoufette: man yum
PetiteMoufette: Brasero, K3B etc. There are lots ;)
PetiteMoufette: research how to conduct a SEARCH
BobJensen, how about you don't rtfm people that's why people choose Ubuntu or Fedora because the support is better.
JamesNZ, thank you
PetiteMoufette: There is no reason you can't search through the options
NONE
other than laziness
PetiteMoufette: https://www.google.com/search?q=write+an+ISO+to+disk+fedora
Seriously...
http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/newbie/189821-fedora-17-iso-burning.html
that's what I got
Anyway.. no need to bitch
* alvesadrian has quit (Ping timeout: 246 seconds)
Then why did you?
do you get your kicks from being a douche? or does it come off naturally?
* PetiteMoufette (~invisible@unaffiliated/afallenhope) has left #fedora ("Leaving")
and the support for Ubnutu is not "better" it is just different
* basic6 has quit (Ping timeout: 245 seconds)
* Pix has quit (Ping timeout: 260 seconds)
BobJensen: Seriously dude. It was just a question, you weren't required to answer.
JamesNZ: Neither were you
JamesNZ: and please don't call me dude.

I've done nothing to insult you
* lenswipe has quit (Quit: Page closed)
BobJensen: My apologies, but I don't think PetiteMoufette did anything to insult you either.
No offense meant.
JamesNZ: I suppose in your book, I should have run the yum search myself and listed the 30 or so odd results for them?

* ffranz has quit (Quit: Leaving)
* Technicool has quit (Remote host closed the connection)
No :) I would have listed the ones I knew of off the top of my head (which I did). And then tell them how to find the answer for themselves with yum (which I forgot).
* dneary has quit (Ping timeout: 250 seconds)
Again, no offense.
JamesNZ, I would have pointed them at the documentation, because that is what it is for.. :)
* Robert_Laverick has quit (Ping timeout: 252 seconds)
mutk: Can't argue with that logic :D I just think that it's best to do so in a more diplomatic way.
Anyway, lets get off that topic....
Hey, we want to make the channel better. How about dropping us a note and let us know how you feel the channel is doing, good or bad and give feedback about users or issues also. https://fedorahosted.org/irc-support-sig/ (Tickets reviewed weekly)

Firstly I wanted to say, sorry. My behaviour wasn't right and I apologize. I was in pure panic mode because for whatever the reason being I thought it was smart to follow a tutorial that was talking saying to get my game working I had to install catalyst drivers / kernel or whatever. Secondly, BobJensen I understand that you may feel that you're more superior than most because of whatever knowledge you have of Linux or Fedora or what n
ot. Please mind the little people though that ask for assistance. I'm not one that requests answers I use IRC when all my Google..ing has failed me. To think you're actually booty-tickled from the incident is one thing but I would still like to apologize for my actions as they were rude.

PetiteMoufette, Here is a great reference BTW. You missed it - http://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/Fedora/17/html-single/Burning_ISO_images_to_disc/index.html There is also a whole Documentation project guide at docs.fedoraproject.org
mutk, yeah I found that when I searched. I didn't know if it applied to what I was trying to do. I simply used dd if=/home/invisibleheero/ubuntu.iso of=/dev/sdb
PetiteMoufette: Firstly, piss off
PetiteMoufette: Secondly, It's not about being superior.
PetiteMoufette: it's about teaching you to help yourself
PM = private message.
Initia7_B, we know
:-)
Initia7_B: I've no interest in PMs. PetiteMoufette was an inconsiderate publicly so any apology should be also.

BobJensen: thanks for the links, those are helpfull
PetiteMoufette: Do NOT send me private messages
}}}

IMHO this is very rude behaviour from BobJensen, admittedly PetiteMoufette probably shouldn't have implied that BobJensen thought he was superior, but even so I think that telling someone to "piss off" is totally uncalled for.

This was discussed in the previous two weeks meetings.

Thanks for your feedback.
