#396 Are sop_mass_branching and sop_mass_branching_checklist redundant?
Opened by adamwill. Modified

I'm not sure why both https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/infra/release_guide/sop_mass_branching_checklist/ and https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/infra/release_guide/sop_mass_branching/ exist. The former seems like it's maybe meant to be a condensed version of the latter, but it winds up being quite long anyway, but missing a lot of the useful detail.

The checklist doc has only been changed three times since @jnsamyak added it in Oct 2023, while the main SOP has had quite a lot more change, so I suspect the checklist might be somewhat out of date - just for one example, it doesn't mention fedora-kiwi-descriptions.

Is it really useful to have both docs, or should we get rid of the checklist?

I'm not sure why they are different... perhaps they should be merged?

No, O need to sync/update them with new information because it's a format (call it a wrapper) which I use every time I do the branching to check off the list, the actual documentation is where steps and meaning are explained, the checklist is a checklist, I'll assign myself with this issue and syncit.
