#151 F36 Change: DefaultToNotoFonts
Closed: Fixed by pnemade. Opened by pnemade.

This is tracker for F36 Change https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/DefaultToNotoFonts

I noticed that libreoffice-core pulls in all 3 dejavu-fonts still.
It would be good to discuss whether this can be changed.

BTW I heard a suggestion from Desktop asking if we plan to do a separate Test Day for this Change: that would probably appeal to more users that just the i18n one.

The release notes ticket is https://pagure.io/fedora-docs/release-notes/issue/788

Akira going to open a libreoffice bug about libreoffice-core pullng in dejavu-fonts.

Added some notes to release notes ticket.

Can we drop dejavu-sans-mono-fonts from the default @fonts group?

I can see some language still use DejaVu Sans Mono as monospace even though Noto Sans Mono is installed. maybe good to try generating the table what happens without it. let's try before submitting PR to comps.

As discussed, less affects on changing DajaVu Sans Mono to Noto Sans Mono for languages still use dejavu because we use Source Code Pro in GNOME and on even non-GNOME desktops, we already use Noto Sans Mono for Latin characters. this affects Arabic language and so on though, monospace font isn't that important for them.

So filed PR to comps: https://pagure.io/fedora-comps/pull-request/725

I believe all the required work for this Change has been completed now.
