I want to add samba object class to the 389ds server so that i can use FreeIPA with a Samba server.

Issue

after i added "sambaSamAccount" in the IPA server configuration, if i try to add new users i have the following error:
Erreur IPA 4205: ObjectclassViolation
missing attribute "sambaSID" required by object class "sambaSamAccount"

Steps to Reproduce

  1. add the sambaSamAccount object class to the configuration.
  2. try to create new user

Actual behavior

the user is not added and the error message is display

Expected behavior

new user with the samba object class

Version/Release/Distribution

FreeIPA VERSION: 4.9.8, API_VERSION: 2.245

FreeIPA has own support for integration with Samba. Please follow https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_enterprise_linux/8/html/configuring_and_managing_identity_management/setting-up-samba-on-an-idm-domain-member_configuring-and-managing-idm

A method you are trying to follow is unsupported and is from very old times.
