#9181 Not a FQDN ?
Closed: invalid by abbra. Opened by laurentdelacre.

I try to connect a fedora client to my server with Fedora 36. I've set /etc/hosts and executed a "hostnamectl set-hostname..." command... but the script complains about a lack of FQDN. My DNS SERVER also knows the name of this client... Then, wat's the problem ? Thanks in advance !

Here's the text shown on my console:
[administrator@bib03 ~]$ cat /etc/hosts
192.168.2.92 bib03 bib03.ccm.indloverval.be
127.0.0.1 localhost localhost.localdomain localhost4 localhost4.localdomain4

Please make canonical hostname FQDN. Your /etc/hosts has non-FQDN as canonical hostname.

192.168.2.92 bib03 bib03.ccm.indloverval.be

it should be

192.168.2.92 bib03.ccm.indloverval.be bib03

See man page hosts(5).
