389-ds is planning on changing the format of replication status messages to be JSON instead.

Ideally IPA will be able to parse both the existing and proposed JSON messages. Work should be able to proceed in parallel with the 389-ds efforts.

Note - this does not change the existing status message, it only adds a new attribute that IPA can start using. We want to revise the old attribute message sooner than later, but this requires getting this PR merge on all active branches of FreeIPA first. So it's a work in progress :-)
