example.com is a domain name, not a FQDN. You need something like master.example.com. A FQDN typically has at least three labels: top level domain (.e.g com), domain (e.g. example in com TLD) and the host name (e.g. master).

By the way, it's a bad idea to reuse an existing domain name. You'll get in all sorts of trouble. You should use a reserved TLD from https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc2606#section-2 for testing, e.g. master.ipa.example.

i thank you for your response despite of giving FQDN ie ipa.example.com i ended in following errors

Have you provided the -h option with master.example.com when running the container?

As the documentation shows (in https://github.com/freeipa/freeipa-container):

docker run --name freeipa-server-container -ti \
   -h ipa.example.test

yes i tried despite of this i am getting bugs

Instead of saying:

Please, provide the exact commands you tried.

After successfully installing free ipa server i ran following commands

docker run -ti freeipa-server

docker run --name freeipa-server-container -ti freeipa-server
docker ps

sudo ipa-server-install

docker images
