API tests are not able to handle raw values which are usually different from "normal" values. Framework should contain interface for handling output in both normal and raw form.
This is crucial for DNS tests and memberships (where DN is not translated to primary key). Purpose of this ticket is avoid to creating ad-hoc solutions in particular tests.

Can you provide any more details on the use cases for this? Not sure which framework you mean though I assume the test framework. We're talking XML-RPC tests?

Yes xmlrpc test framework, this is for new style tests, without this there is no possibility (or it will be super ugly) to migrate dns tests to the new format.
