#3206 Nonresponsive maintainer: Lubomir Rintel lkundrak
Closed: Rejected by kevin. Opened by lihis.

fas username: @lkundrak
package: phosh, phoc
issues to fix:
nonresponsive maintainer bug: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2277951
fedora-devel mail: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/devel@lists.fedoraproject.org/thread/UOHKYS5ZWSXF2XQAT5GW6SZPCIX7H3BT/#P35XQNMGDK45KYHRYBHADPI3J237ONXU
comainainers: @njha
I am interested in comaintaining the package: yes
additional notes:

Thanks to Miroslav's response to devel -list email I was able to get in contact with @lkundrak. He responded that he does not have time to maintain the package where I replied I can take over the phosh and phoc packages. However, I did not get any reply after that.

I am packager and I can take over the package.

This is a ticket for the Fedora's Policy for nonresponsive package maintainers.

Hmm, I see many builds by @lkundrak (https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/builds?userID=lkundrak&order=-build_id). So it's not clear what is going on here.

@lkundrak you around?

You won't get any response from that ping, as his FAS email is a non-existing domain. If you look at Phosh/phoc history, he only brought them in initially, and never updated them again - all updates were done by 2 ppl from Mobility-Sig, who no longer have the time to do it.

Right, so as a fesco member and it having been more than 3 days: +1

I will add @lihis to phosh and phoc packages as a comaintainer.

Sorry for the delay here.

Hi. Sorry for the lack of response. I'm increasingly having trouble finding time for package maintenance except for packages needed for $DAYJOB (which is essentially NetworkManager and such). Furthermore my mail setup seems to have fallen apart. I'm switching my FAS account to the Red Hat address now.

Orphaning the packages is probably a good idea. Is it okay if I spend a few days looking for maintainers and reassigning ownership of packages that already have comaintainers; then orphan the packages I am unable to keep?

Or is it better to just orphan them right away and hope if there's someone willing to maintain them will just find out and pick them up?

@lkundrak We mainly opened this ticket, because we were in real trouble with the Phosh and Phoc packages. Pls just handle maintainership over to @lihis for these.

For all the other packages, I think it is a good idea to try to find new maintainers and/or reassign to comaintainers.

If after some time you still have some packages left, and you have no time to maintain them, it is most likely best to just orphan them.

@alho he already handed them over. I just haven't had time to close the BZ ticket and I'm not sure can I close this too.

Yes, lets just close this now. ;)

@lkundrak if you need anything, please let me know.

Finding maintainers would be great and just orphan any others you don't have time for for others to pick up.
