Could you provide a vote here? That would help us avoid extra minutes in the next Workstation meeting. :wink:

What does it do? I've failed to figure out what it's for, other than "something modem-related."

My inclination would be to defer to the NetworkManager developers on this. If it's generally-useful and doesn't have a huge amount of dependencies, it should probably be present by default.
