Now, enabling third party repositories will create a remote Flathub which is a filtered view of Flathub. Therefore, I think it would be beneficial to add PyCharm and Steam to that filtered list. (Maybe Google Chroome and other Chromium browsers in the near future?) And just use rpm-fusion for drivers, like Nvidia drivers.

This would also be beneficial for Fedora Silverblue. And it would accentuate the goal of using flatpaks for graphics applications. Plus, we avoid having problems with dependencies.

Questions I have:

) Programming in vscode flatpak can be a bit complicated. what can be done with PyCharm from flathub?
) From what I understand there would be no problem with Steam. And besides saving us the dependency problems we would have the latest proton versions which would be welcome by people who play games. Now I haven't used steam, is there any problem with stema from flathub? Problems accessing some folders or something like that...?

There are several issues with Steam as a Flatpak, but the most important one is that there is no built-in workflow that allows people to relocate their Steam game downloads off their main disk. It's very common for gamers to have the Steam library relocated to a dedicated disk because games take up so much space (the average game size in my library exceeds 200GB!).

I don't think moving ALL apps to flatpak is good idea, it isn't ready for all use-cases.
