Not sure where to file a problem with https://admin.fedoraproject.org/pkgdb/api/collections/ , thus let's start here. @aday maybe you can redirect me.
The collections API returns Fedora, while the OS name on a rawhide machine says Fedora Linux. These do not match, thus gnome-software does not suggest any upgrade.
Fedora
Fedora Linux
Should the web API be fixed or the gnome-software should read the OS name from a different place?
Isn't "branchname" a more reliable entry to check instead?
I do not know. It depends what the pkgdb API uses. What the gnome-software has worked for years, until the recent rename from Fedora to Fedora Linux.
Thinking of it, if the f35 will be advertised as Fedora Linux by the pkgdb API, then there is no bug here. I just noticed this difference and wanted to heads up to (hopefully) related parties.
That is a manually written file by Fedora Infrastructure, so file a ticket with them to update the reference to Fedora Linux.
Okay, thanks, I opened https://pagure.io/fedora-infrastructure/issue/10154
