Hello @ebelko, thanks for contacting fedora team about test day.
Prior test day it needed to find out:
1, TestCases We need specific test cases in the Fedora QA wiki format like your previous: A] https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/QA:Testcase_FreeIPA_realmd_login or B] Alternatively, we can link to your official FreeIPA "how-to" documentation , like https://www.freeipa.org/page/Web_UI => Users would try your real "steps to install / how-to"
We need set up for installation / running webUI / ....
2, When? The proposed dates are acceptable. We can also extend the testing to cover the whole week or multiple days.
3, Which matrix channel to use? Should we use the general Test Day channel or one of yours?
4, Who will be accessible for users' question / general discussion ? We need the name(s)/nickname(s) of FreeIPA team members who will be available for technical discussions and questions during the Test Day.
5, where to report bugs? Please specify if bugs should be reported to Bugzilla (Fedora) or upstream (FreeIPA).
I found previous test days about freeipa, where we can reuse any suitable tests Fedora42 and Fedora41 test days: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Day:2024-12-09_IPA_migrate https://testdays.fedoraproject.org/archive/206.html https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Day:Test_Day:2024-07-09_IPA_HSM https://testdays.fedoraproject.org/archive/191.html
Also I found older test cases about freeIPA. Probably very old and maybe material for removal or change: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Category:FreeIPA_Test_Cases

A couple more questions:
Hello @psklenar , thank you for your answer, I appreciate that. Let me answer questions one by one please:
Option A. I have the Test Cases in progress in the Google doc here, once it is done I will convert them to Fedora QA wiki format, sure. Please if you could guide me through this process it would be amazing, as I am doing this first time in your Pagure project.
We discussed the days already with the team and 2nd and 3rd December is great for us. But thank you for the offer of extending.
Speaking of the matrix channel I don't have preference, how is this done usually? For Slack channel I was thinking of having special channel for this test day lets say fedora-testday-freeipa-webui, please let me know if I should create it or it will be created by you.
I will provide names and also times, but for now, contacts are @carlmart @dhanina @rjeffman and me. There will be more people, because we need to cover also APAC and to have someone available from Ops.
Upstream - specifically Github issues here. And as it is UI we would be really happy to also hear from people their opinions about UI and mainly about User Experience, so we want to include also space for UX comments, for that we would like to use Github discussions here (I will create there specific thread for this).
Thank you for the links provided, most of the test cases are not needed now, but I will look at them as an inspiration. Focus is to test the interface and UX, and of course if it is doing what it should with freeipa. Hello @kparal thank you for your comment as well. Additional questions answered here:
On top of Fedora 43.
No, it's in copr here.
Hi @ebelko , 1, I created draft wiki about testday: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Day:2025-12-02_FreeIPA-WebUI_Test_Day
2, test cases, I created draft https://testdays.fedoraproject.org/testday/9 , where are links to testcases as example.
for now its needed: add installation steps into wiki from step1, and please review the rest of the page testcases in wiki format or its fine to have testcases at your upstream project (not internal rh docs)
status: FreeIPA team provided a test installation setup and is also working on deploying already installed FreeIPA with Web UI.
Testcases will be prepared by the end of this week.
Hi @psklenar , thanks for your comments. As you mentioned, so far I provided installation steps and other sections in the wiki page. I have created also user stories (we will use this format as test cases). All I need is to connect them with the test results table, could you give me permissions for that or provide info how I could do it please? (slack)
Please link your testcases here, we'll create the results page. Ideal format is:
= Section name * Testcase name; URL * Another testcase name; URL
closing this ticket, testday is over

Let's please first export the test results to wiki (it's already about a week after the event, no need to further wait), then close it, thanks.
