Owner: Justin Forbes Time Frame: 12th Oct - 18th Oct Features: Kernel 6.17 rebase
As discussed at Flock, we will start hosting test days for each major kernel rebase (approximately every 8-10 weeks). It was discussed that we should extend this to a test week, to allow time for more participants. They have been incredibly helpful so far. As the 6.17 kernel is released, I would like to get a test week in before we push the rebase to stable releases. I will have ISOs for USB images so that users can test on bare metal or in VMs, and the kernel will be available in the stabilization repo for users who wish to install it on existing systems.

Here's the wiki page: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Day:2025-10-12_Kernel_6.17_Test_Week
I've adjusted it a little bit compared to last time, please look whether everything looks correct, thanks. Also, it needs updating the Koji build link etc.

Fedocal event is created, test-announce and Fedora Discussion announcements are scheduled. Please feel free to announce it in other relevant channels as well.
@jforbes Hi, just a ping to make sure you saw the update. The wiki page still needs some edits, like specifying the intended koji build link, and providing the testweek iso in your fedorapeople dir.
Indeed I did, thank you. I always do the updates on the Friday or Saturday before test week as I get the images built with the most recent test kernels and such.
I corrected the info that this is intended for F42 and not F43. If you could add this target release to your test day ticket template, I would appreciate it, because it sometimes gets confusing, thanks :-)
Can do, though targeted release is typically confusing as this is the rare case where we only have one release to test against. Normally we are testing for all stable releases. It just works out weirdly that F41 EOL will be so soon that I am not going to rebase it.
Thanks for your work on this. While overall participation was rather low comparatively, I think that is to be expected with the F43 release so close and it being already on a 6.17.x kernel.
Another possible cause might be that Sumantro promoted it much better and in more channels. We'll see if we can improve this in the next cycle.
Test results were exported to wiki. Closing ticket.
