#820 6.16 kernel test week 10th Aug - 16th Aug
Closed: Fixed by adamwill. Opened by jforbes.

Owner: Justin Forbes
Time Frame: 10th Aug - 16th Aug
Features: Kernel 6.16 rebase

As discussed at Flock, we will start hosting test days for each major kernel rebase (approximately every 8-10 weeks). It was discussed that we should extend this to a test week, to allow time for more participants. They have been incredibly helpful so far. As the 6.16 kernel is released, I would like to get a test week in before we push the rebase to stable releases. I will have ISOs for USB images so that users can test on bare metal or in VMs, and the kernel will be available in the stabilization repo for users who wish to install it on existing systems.

Here's the results page:

The wiki, calendar, and announcements still need to be created.
@amoloney or @sumantrom do you want to take care of that?

@jforbes Is it correct that the testing will occur on F42 images and not F43? Just verifying the instructions.

Yes, these test weeks are for rebasing stable releases, so the test images are always based on the most recent stable. I am not sure yet if F43 will ship with a 6.16.x kernel or a 6.17 kernel.

Thanks. I have an email announcement already scheduled, and I'll try to not forget about a Discussion post when the test week starts.

It looks like @kparal did manage to post the the announcements and the event went ahead with some results, so closing this. Thanks everyone!
