Following on from the previous 2 successful test days, the openstack team would like to have a test day for the openstack Folsom (milestone 3) release.
Probably included also in the test cases will be tests for the new Heat component listed as a Fedora 18 feature: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Features/Heat
What date would you like to have? https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/QA/Fedora_18_test_days
We usually do Test Days on Thursdays and the schedule is almost full, but don't worry, we can also schedule some Tuesday. When shall it be?
2012-08-30 would be great please
just a note: fedora jam is scheduled for this thursday but doesn't look ready at all, so I was thinking of pushing that one back to 08-30. we can surely resolve it somehow, though.
OK. So what about 2012-08-28 for OpenStack and 2012-08-30 for Fedora Jam? Does that work for you guys?
It'll be tight, but let's try for 2012-08-28 for openstack thanks
I have added it into the schedule and created a stub wiki page:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Day:2012-08-28_OpenStack
Please fill in the instructions and test cases following:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/QA/SOP_Test_Day_management
Thanks.
Unfortunately due to several reasons 28th Aug is not a good day for the openstack team. So instead we're aiming for a somewhat independent test day on the following Tuesday:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Day:2012-09-04_OpenStack
thanks, Pádraig.
Not sure what you mean by 'somewhat independent', but there's no problem with that scheduling from the QA perspective. We can happily put it in the official schedule for 09-04.
oh, I see, it's the same as an i18n test day. That does make it a bit tricky, but I'll see what I can do.
OK, i've just listed them both in the table on the same day. No law says we can't...I think we did it once in the last cycle too.
Hi folks,
The wiki page is still quite empty: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Day:2012-08-28_OpenStack
I'd like to forward the upcoming test days to the marketing team so we can spread the word and try to get better participation. Since there's only a week to make some noise, would it be possible to add a summary or something of sorts to the wiki page (if the tests can't be added any sooner), that we can use in our posts? Providing the link to a blank wiki page won't really help ;)
Thanks a bunch for your QA efforts,[[BR]] Hopefully I'll be around to test stuff as well.[[BR]] Ankur
Thanks for the scheduling accommodation! We'll add the test cases over the next few days.
Hi, I've got a half-dozen people with RHCEs or better, including a couple folks with customers looking to evaluate Open Stack, interested in testing. I think 14 Sep. would work better for us, but I can probably still wrangle a few people for 4 Sep. Thanks!
@sten excellent! Note you can test at any time after the test day and post results.
After further discussions it was thought best to base the test day around Fedora 18 alpha + OpenStack Folsom release candidate 1.
Therefore the new date is Sep 18th, which should be final:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Day:2012-09-18_OpenStack
Hmm, we already have another test day at that date. But why not. I have adjusted
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/QA/Fedora_18_test_days
Next time please make sure you change your mind sooner, because these last minute changes don't go well with building community (some ambassadors already announced your test day to the public).
Hello guys, is everything ready for tomorrow?
I don't see any test cases and no results matrix.
Yep, All will be ready. We're fleshing tests out independently and will copy in later on today.
thanks.
