#178 I would like to get a proven tester
Closed: Fixed Opened by derzauberer.

Hello Proventester Mentor Team,

I would like to help making Fedora more stable with testing updates and new versions. At the moment I'm using Fedora 14. My first Fedora installation was Fedora Core 6 and since then I'm using Fedora on my desktop. The first linux experience I made with Red Hat 9 in 2005.

If you need more informations just email me.

Greetings,

David Hackl

I'll be happy to sponsor you into the proventesters group once you have completed a few requirements. Please take a moment to read through the proventester instructions at:

http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Proven_tester

As a proventester, our job isn't to exhaustively find all defects in a software update that we test. Instead the focus is to determine whether the new package update negatively impacts core system functionality. Please pay particular attention to the documented feedback procedures.

Once you have read through the instruction, can you please confirm that you ...:

have read and understand the instructions, and will follow the instructions when testing Fedora critical path updates.

understand how to enable the update-testing repository

are familiar with providing test feedback using either the Bodhi web interface, or the fedora-easy-karma utility

Once you confirm these three from the list above, then I will be happy to sponsor your membership in the proventester group, after you apply for membership of this group in FAS.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Mike

Hi Mike,

I read the proven tester instructions and understand what will be my work.

Also I tested how to use the fedora-easy-karma tool for giving feedback for the packages regarding the test cases in the instructions.

And I joined the group in fas :)

Greetings,

David

Hi David - great and thanks for the confirmation. I have now sponsored you - enjoy testing as a proventester - there are plenty of packages on the list that need testing at the moment both for f14 and f15!
