Setup kiwi to build images.
This probably could go into https://pagure.io/fedora-kiwi-descriptions
@tdawson is already producing Plasma Mobile images with kiwi. Do you want to make images similar to those? And with what environment, Phosh I guess?
Thanks for letting me know! Would you mind, or @tdawson to share a link were the sources for it is? Could it also be that it also has support for PinePhone already?
And with what environment, Phosh I guess?
Yes with Phosh.
The Plasma Mobile image definitions are here:
I did write the basic "phosh desktop" snippet already: https://pagure.io/fedora-kiwi-descriptions/blob/rawhide/f/components/desktops/phosh.xml
There's just no deliverables defined yet.
As for PinePhone support, I don't know as I don't have one to try.
Thanks!
I have one so I can test. Just first need to figure out how to use kiwi.
I have been making our Phosh and Pinephone images with kiwi for some time. I tried to see if I could update the description through the web interface, but it doesn't allow me to add a new file (teams/phosh.xml), so somebody else will have todo that to F42
I sent to some Git commands in Fedora Mobility channel, let me know how it plays out so we can find another way if needed.
I think we should target rawhide first?
rawhide
Yes, that's the only branch you should work from for this, as you're working to introduce a new artifact.
ok pr sent for rawhide. Is there anything wrong in sendig it for F42 too ? I know Fedora will never make images for us - but as we build our stable remixes from F42 branch, it is nice to have it 'official' in there.
I would think it would be ok to ship in 42... we already ship some things that are not actually used by official builds.
I guess it might be nice to denote these somehow...
I can cherry pick it once merged into rawhide branch.
And .... is somebody going to merge it ..... or do I need to do something more ?
This is done.
