Describe what you would like us to do:

I have created an account hhei that I am using now, but when I create the same stg account using name hhei, failed with:
Field must be between 5 and 32 characters long

Could you help to create it or guidance how I can create? Thank you!

When do you need this to be done by? (YYYY/MM/DD)

I use https://accounts.stg.fedoraproject.org/ to create the stage account.

I'm currently not sure why we have this policy on staging. I will wait for comment from @kevin before creating the account manually.

As a workaround if you don't want to wait you can create account with longer username.

This is a global policy we set in place long ago when we decided that really short names are not a good idea.

It's a commit in noggin somewhere defaulting to 5

So, IMHO, just make a account there with a longer name...

Agree, but if I create another stage account, then it could be inconsistent with https://accounts.fedoraproject.org/user/hhei/, and will make me change in various places.

Maybe better to help to create the same stage account hhei manually? Thank you!

The staging account system is completely separated from production one, so the inconsistencies will be there anyway. For example different url https://accounts.fedoraproject.org/user/hhei/ vs. https://accounts.stg.fedoraproject.org/user/hhei/

Closing this as will not fix, as we don't want to change the policies regarding name length.
