in ansible roles/varnish/templates/proxies.vcl.j2 was added in 0f43dd177d0b11085b4119c800326b7b8d65f75f (2014-12-08) by @pingou and commented out in f4d18014ce077071bf94df4e802183741b41fa34 (2015-01-20) by @kevin . It's been commented out ever since. Probably about time we either uncommented it or deleted it...
I've slept since then and don't recall why I disabled it. ;)
So, I guess I'd say lets drop it?
I guess the idea of most of the block was to try and avoid compressing already-compressed things, but no idea if that's still a going concern...
