#12475 Docs: Antora not building new versions of some docs
Closed: Fixed by darknao. Opened by jflory7.

Describe what you would like us to do

At first appearance, it appears that Antora is not building new builds of Fedora Docs content from source. I have updated several docs repos in the last 24 hours, and none of the changes appear to be published. The convention I understood is that builds happened hourly.

The pages in question that have not updated:

  • https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/council/
  • https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/commops/

There may be others. I have not checked. But I have pushed new commits to each of these three sites, and the changes are not appearing. I am a bit stuck on how to debug.

Not sure if this is a @pbokoc ticket or if someone in Infra can parse the logs and figure out what the error is.

When do you need this to be done by? (2025-04-04)

Preferably as soon as possible, as I need to get some timely information published about volunteering with Flock 2025.

@kevin checked the logs and the last build was on April 1st. He also shared this pastebin of the logs on Matrix, which indicates the script ran successfully last time. @decathorpe also noted that the FESCo docs have not built from recent changes too.

Given the context that the Fedora Docs site historically builds every hour, regardless of whether there are upstream changes, something seems wrong with how the script is scheduled. It is as if the cronjob that ran the job every hour was unset somehow.

To clarify the cron is running every hour... it just has that output... so it seems like antora doesn't have any error, but also doesn't seem to build anything new?

Not sure. ;(

I'll take a closer look at the build pipeline

- Issue assigned to darknao

The rsync process has been stuck on almost all proxies since the 28th of March.
I restarted the sync process, but it might take a while for all proxies to catch up.

I saw alerts on three proxies few days ago and restarted the jobs on them, I didn't realized that this is happening on more than the three I was fixing.

So this could be the same issue. It was the docs_sync cronjob being stuck for multiple hours.

Fedora Docs is now up-to-date on all proxies.
