As announced ( https://communityblog.fedoraproject.org/fedora-datacenter-move-later-this-year-2025-version/ ) we are moving out of our biggest datacenter and into a new one in 2025.
This will tenatively happen in may, a few weeks after the f42 release is out.
This ticket is to note this work at a high level. There will be other related tickets and documents and plans around this as we move further in planning.
Tenative plan:
Late Feb - access to new hardware in rdu3 March - bootstrap rdu3 and setup / install in rdu3 on new machines April - Perhaps migrate some things that don't have dependence on other items in iad2, as well as prep those things that do. May - After f41 is out, have a outage to switch over to the new datacenter. This will likely be a few days to a week of disruption, although we plan to keep it to a minimum. Late May - after we have moved, power off machines in IAD2 and some will be shipped to RDU3 June - bring up staging in RDU3 and shuffle things around to 'normal'.
Quick update here.
I have a initial plan document (still needs some work, but feedback welcome!) at:

Also, our tenative window looks to have moved to june.. currently june 16th for the switcharoo week, so everything is moving out a month or so at least.
Just a quick update.
The plan is to do the switcharoo to the new datacenter mid june now.
The current plan is now the week of june 30th. See posts on communityblog for more details.
https://pagure.io/infra-docs-fpo needs a big iad2/IAD2->rdu3/RDU3, but I'm not sure if it's as simple as basic substitution or if other changes are needed.
This work is completed now. ;)
