Our research and analysis (brainstorming log) suggests that we need a bunch of notifications around events. This will help make Hubs a canonical resource for people and events in Fedora.
This is somewhat complicated in that many of these things may also need associated widgets. As it turns out to be the case, I will create additional tickets.
List of notifications I am currently aware are needed: + suggest upcoming events in their region (if they haven’t already responded to them). + show notifications about local, global, and regional meetups to everyone based on their location data ++ Include people who are members of a hub in a relevant region ++ include people who have opted to receive these notifications ++ allow for opt-out via notification filtering + Notify people of changes and cancellations of events they RSVP'd Maybe or Yes to. + Notify hub leaders/previous organizer of the need for someone to take charge of the next recurring event ('meetup') + Remind meetup organizer to verify that everything is all set for an event (enough atendees, no weather cancellations, etc)
I will attach my quick mockup of this to the comments.
This does not include the recurring event notifications:
Here's some feedback.
Some updates!
I tried to take into account all your thoughts (didn't change the icon color thing because I don't have other icons to use instead). First, the main set of notifications:
Now a reminder for someone who said maybe:
Event cancellation (the blizzard link should go to a weather report):
Finally, reminding that an event they said they'd go to is in a week:
Widgets that I didn't do much with due to time limitations:
