Hi,
packages lprint and sane-airscan go into Fedora 32+, so it would be good to mention it in Release notes, because it enables driverless scanning/printing for several devices.
Would you mind reviewing the text and telling me if something needs to be rephrased? I'm not a tech writer, so feel free to correct me.
Would it be possible to merge it into F32 branch too?
Thank you in advance!
Zdenek
Hi @zdohnal ,
We can definitely add your release notes, contributions are always welcome. However, could you please close this PR and reopen it against branch F32? We keep branch master free of any content that doesn't carry over between versions, we only use it basically as a blank template, so merging your RNs in there makes no sense.
As for feedback, I'll put some notes inline in this PR.
I'd keep both notes in one file, and name it "Printing & Scanning" - they're somewhat related concepts and it seems better than having a single RN per page.
Fedora now ships package `lprint` -> Fedora now ships the `lprint` package
Several things here: - "capable to run" -> "capable of running" - "capable of providing its own web ui" -> "and it provides its own web UI" (note the capitalization of "UI" too)
"Fedora now ships package `sane-airscan`" -> "Fedora now ships the `sane-airscan` package" "which supports WSD (WS-Scan) or eSCL (Apple Airscan)" -> "which supports the WSD (WS-Scan) and eSCL (Apple Airscan)"
"Most of newer devices" -> "Most newer devices" "implements" -> "implement" "e.g." -> "such as"
@pbokoc ok, thanks for the review, I'll apply the changes. I would like to have the text in Fedora 33 release notes too, should I create a pull request for F33 branch too?
