I know that this is the essential trick to this particular workflow, YET I KEEP FORGETTING IT. So, two things:

  1. Move -o upstream to the beginning of the line where a) I think it is more obvious and b) it seems more natural, because you have all of the typed part and then the pasted part
  2. Explicitly call this out as the "trick" of this workflow.

I'm ambivalent toward part 2, but part 1 is correct on both parts, so I'll give this the ol' merge.
