Summary

Create infographics / design assets about Fedora Women's Day based on pictures, event reports, and statistics from 2019

Background

In #94, we discussed about creating infographics / visualizations of the organizing efforts behind Fedora Women's Day. We also chatted with @riecatnor about a possible Outreachy intern helping to work on some of these things (see mentored-projects#73).

This would be a useful design resource for us to use in promoting FWD but also to give to organizers of future FWDs or other Fedora community events.

Details

We could use some input from a designer on how to approach this, but some resources we have for future design assets are below:

  • FWD 2019 metrics: @nikhilkathole's comment has useful data for a visualization
  • mindshare#176: Mindshare ticket highlighting outreach efforts across Fedora in 2019
  • FWD event reports: Collection of event reports and blog posts with pictures from past FWDs, 2016-2019

Outcome

  • Reusable design assets to help us:
    • Promote FWD to bring in organizers
    • Provide a takeaway for organizers to share at their events

I talked to @jflory7 about this, and I have a template for infographics. I'll try to squeeze one in for FWD too!

Hey! So I repurposed the mindshare infographic template to make a reusable template which can be used by any FWD organiser to give a visual summary of their event. I referred to the previous FWD event reports for the different sections. I have added placeholder text and a brief description wherever necessary so that everything is easy to understand :)
@jflory7 and I were talking, and I think this can potentially be used for future D&I events too! Let me know what you folks think of it, I'll be happy to make any changes! :D

Amazing @smeragoel! :grinning: This looks great! I added it to the D&I docs repo in Pull Request #177. We will need to get it updated with the numbers and pictures from 2020! :100:
