After the change required by #215, where the Obsoletes: singularity was moved to apptainer-suid and the Provides: singularity was removed, now when someone does 'yum install apptainer' on a system where singularity is already installed it attempts to do the install of apptainer without removing singularity. It gets a bunch of errors beginning like
Transaction check error: file /usr/bin/run-singularity from install of apptainer-1.1.4-2.el7.x86_64 conflicts with file from package singularity-3.8.7-1.x86_64 file /usr/bin/singularity from install of apptainer-1.1.4-2.el7.x86_64 conflicts with file from package singularity-3.8.7-1.x86_64 file /usr/share/man/man1/singularity-build.1.gz from install of apptainer-1.1.4-2.el7.x86_64 conflicts with file from package singularity-3.8.7-1.x86_64 ...
What should I do? Put an Obsoletes: singularity on both apptainer and and apptainer-suid? A fix should be rushed.
Obsoletes: singularity
Putting it on both does seem to solve the problem.
