We improved the way we handle getting group info in 1.2 branch by creating incomplete expired user entries. The task was tracked as ticket #625 and fixed by commit 5cdb4db7d24ce16645ef54c8ff9fb03cb7d0694f

We need to forward-port the change to the master branch, too.
