I'd like to be able to pass a make/env variable to be able to use to the compiler something like: -aux-info $@.X
Also I would like to be able to pass to the linker --version-script foo.exports (this is supported at least on linux and solaris) so that we can explicitly control which symbols are exported in a shared object and not risk exposing symbols we do not want to make available.
