SSSD always uses autodiscovered search bases in child domains when AD provider is used (note: IPA-AD trusts are not affected) and the search bases in sssd.conf (trusted domain section) are ignored.

Well. It is related to the issue discussed in the comments for this BZ: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1446535
