#1138 Old versions of nsupdate do not support the 'realm' directive
Closed: Fixed Opened by sgallagh.

Platforms with older versions of the {{{nsupdate}}} tool from BIND (such as RHEL 5) do not support the 'realm' directive in update messages.

We need to detect these platforms at build time and disable the use of the realm directive.

The manpages for dynamic DNS update should be updated to mention that on older platforms, the /etc/krb5.conf should be configured with the default realm.
