The Fedora Infra team wants to hold a hackfest, tentatively scheduled for May 8-12, 2017 (a quickly hardening target). While the Fedora events budget is not yet set, we hope that there is sufficient funding to support this hackfest. The goals include:
My team budget can subsidize a portion of the cost, but we need assistance to hold it. I'll update this ticket shortly with a wiki page that further describes the event and budget.
+1 to the idea.
The wiki page is started but incomplete. I expect to have more details filled in by end of week.

No other feedback? Can we assume this is Council approved, assuming a reasonable overall Fedora events budget?
As we don't have a solid budget yet this isn't approved. Based on the dates it seems like a delay of a couple of weeks isn't a problem. Did I miss something?
A couple of weeks weren't a huge issue. Of course, now it's a month since the ticket was updated, and the event itself is only five weeks off. It would be great to have an approval or else the budget could be affected as flight costs start to spiral up.
Based on budget discussion at the Council FAD, I'm +1 to this.
Is anyone opposed? Because time is getting short and it's going to be more expensive soon, I'd like to fast-track this.
I am +1. Sorry for the late update.
+1
I am also +1 to this.
@pfrields can you update this ticket with the total budget estimate so we have a record of what we approved.
According to the wiki page estimates, I think we're looking at about $9700 estimated (kushal's flight is currently missing but should be there shortly).
Is there anything blocking this from being accepted as $9700 budget for Infrastructure FAD?
Not that I can see.
OK, based on +1 responses here and some input from bex, we're going to start booking travel.
I will update the Fedora Budget to reflect this allocation of $9700. I am treating @pfrields as event owner for the purposes of ensuring that outbound reporting/etc. is done.
As @pfrields has an RHCC we will be coordinating expenses between the two of us for transfers so we don't have to do PayPal reimbursements, if at all possible. I've contacted him directly about this. I will work with @pfrields to make sure that transactions are recorded in the public budget.
