#195 Fundings for the Fedora Podcast Transcripts

Since the release of the first episode, I'm getting the transcripts for the podcast from CastingWords. The charge is like this:

  • 24 episodes (2 per month for one year)
  • 20 minutes per podcast
  • $2.60 per minute with timestamps
  • $1.1 Padding Factor

That makes a total of $1372.8 USD. I'm asking for $1400 USD taking in consideration that timing of episodes it's variable and can be more or less, 20 minutes is an approximation.

I'd like to see this funded as I believe having transcripts is critical for the success of our podcast. It also speaks to diversity.

Now that we have 4 episodes complete, I'd like to see us work to promote this more as well. :)

+1, under the Council bucket like the other request. We're over $1.5k for the year on these podcasts now. I'd like to get some statistics on downloads/listens/reads if we can.

Sure, You will find 2 sources of stats:

  • SimpleCast that is the PodCast's RSS' provider
  • SoundCloud that is the stream source (the one that is embedded in the magazine articles).

For the files in my fedorapeople.org, I don't have any stats.
