#51027 Test passwordHistory is not rewritten on a fail attempt
Closed: wontfix by spichugi. Opened by spichugi.

Issue Description

Add a test that check that "passwordHistory" attribute for a user doesn't get updated if a password change fails due to password repetition.

Package Version and Platform

389-ds-base-1.4.3.5-20200416git46fb7cee4.fc31.x86_64

Steps to reproduce

  1. Set history=n for LDAP user.
  2. Change to: password1
  3. Try "n" password change attempts, either successful, or failed attempts due to repeating passwords.
  4. Change to: password1, this succeeds though password is within "n" last used passwords.
